 The periodic Table:
Find your elemental name on the periodic table!
Some things to know first:

  • Atoms contain three main types of particles: electrons, protons, and neutrons.
  • Elements on the periodic table have symbols.  The symbols are a capital letter (like C for carbon) or a capital letter followed by a lower-case letter (like Be for beryllium).
  • Each element has a unique atomic number (the numbers above the symbols).  The atomic number of Carbon, C, is 6.
  • There are 26 letters in the alphabet, so we are only looking at the first 26 elements on the periodic table for this game.
How to play:
  • Find the number that corresponds to the first letter of your name (A=1, B=2, C=3...)
  • Next, find the element on the periodic table with that atomic number.
  • That element is you elemental name!  Go here to click on your symbol in the PT and find out the name of your element.
